Hunting for "Gorengan" As One of The Famous Snacks From Indonesia.

I recently had the opportunity to explore Pasar Badung, one of Bali, Indonesia's most renowned markets. Situated in the heart of Denpasar, this marketplace offers a diverse array of essential commodities, clothing, and various other goods.

This expansive market boasts multiple buildings, intricately connected by charming bridges. Beneath these bridges, local residents engage in activities such as fishing or leisurely relaxation. The river flowing beneath is not only picturesque but also contributes to the market's well-designed layout.

The amenities at this market prove to be notably convenient. While on the quest for culinary delights, the presence of escalators and lifts on every floor was a welcome feature. Among the myriad stalls, I stumbled upon a selection offering both souvenirs perfect for bringing a piece of the experience back home.

In my quest for a delectable meal, I embarked on another round of exploration. However, my timing proved less than ideal—it was around 12:30 PM. The eateries within the market had already closed, and the stands outside were yet to open. Determined to satisfy my hunger, I decided to venture beyond the market's confines, strolling towards Sulawesi Street. It was there that I encountered a remarkable sight—an enterprising woman gracefully balancing her wares atop her head.

Let me introduce you to Mrs. Ria. Enthralled by her infectious enthusiasm, I couldn't resist interrupting her brisk stride to explore the delectable offerings. With a warm smile, she energetically began preparing my order, taking the time to explain the variety of options she had available. Mrs. Ria's 'Gorengan' selection featured an enticing array of Lumpia, Rissoles, Fried Tofu, and Bala-bala, all accompanied by a flavorful sauce and slices of vibrant green chili.
As she deftly worked on my order, Mrs. Ria shared a glimpse of her daily routine. She operates her stall around Pasar Badung during the day, and move to Sanur Beach in the evening. It's not just a snack; it's a slice of local life, a culinary journey orchestrated by the spirited hands of Bu Ria.

The crispiness of the 'Gorengan,' the perfectly balanced saltiness, and the aroma of the vegetables create a delightful combination. The sweet and sour sauce, along with the spicy touch of green chili slices, enhances the overall flavor profile. This snack is a true delight for those who prefer non-meat options, making it an excellent choice for vegetarians. Besides Mrs. Ria, numerous other vendors offer 'Gorengan' and can be found in various locations across Bali, especially in coastal areas like Sanur Beach, Batu Bolong Beach, and Pererenan Beach.

This is my experience exploring Pasar Badung. There are still many things I want to try when coming here, especially during the evening with various culinary delights offered at the night market.

That concludes my story for today. Thank you for visiting my blog, and may you always stay healthy! God bless you.
